Understanding Education

We believe that the ability to successfully support an Educational establishment can only come from experience of working in the environment firsthand.

Over the years we have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of learning environments, from Secondary and Private Schools, Pupil Referral Units, Childrens Centres, Primary Schools and Adult Learning Centres.

All of these establishments has different requirements and challenges, but all are united in the commitment to Education.

We have a wealth of experience in many areas connected to and charged with delivering technlogy solutions, and we believe this is the main reason we can add value. The benefit to you as our customer is clear - there is always something we can assist with to help your goals become reality.

We have found that there is a cycle that previous projects have gone through.

1. Identify the hardware and software configurations on the network that can be addressed immediately.
2. Look at problem areas for hardware and software, sourcing best price where replacement is needed - all part of a formulated developement plan.
3. Implement these investments, focus on end users without comprimising security. Gain some visiion for how we can develop this further.
4. Developing this to improve the curriculum. Engage students and teachers with the possibilities for new software, and how these can be used to support cross curricular activity.
5. Teach ICT as a subject in it's own right as well as a compliment to other subject areas.

Open Source Software has played an increasingly important part in our strategy. This is because we believe there is benefit in using applications that people have access to outside the school network. Ultimately this means that skills can be built on exposure as well as access - leaving the focus on creativity and not on getting a baseline for skill.
